Reflection

I choose the topic of traveling for the portfolio, because it fit with what I wanted to show my audience. I wanted the audience to travel with me through my whole semester in College Writing 2.
I choose those paper topics because they dealt with medical issues and they also were something that interests me. Leukemia was my first paper and I choose that topic because a member of my family had that cancer when he was very young. Leukemia has always interested me because of him. I choose Down syndrome for the rest of my projects, because that is a illness that has always interested me. I saw a news story on how a Down syndrome child was had a job and was living alone, because his parents taught him that he was just like everyone else. I thought it was amazing and have really been interested in learning more on how they can accomplish so much. I am very happy with all of my choices throughout the semester on my projects. I do not think that I would have changed a thing. I think that throughout the whole semester I have learned so much and have an essayer time writing longer papers. When I was still in high school I thought that 3 pages was a lot, but then when writing 8 pages I did not have that hard of a time understanding how to make my sentences grow. I think that all of my projects helped my understand more about my writing and what career I want to accomplish in life.
I think that I also grew with my research. I think that in the beginning of the semester I had a grasp of how good researching is, but throughout the year I think that I have also grown to becoming a better researcher.
I think that my hardest paper to write was my annotated bibliography. This is because it was very new to me and I had never done anything like that before.
I think that my goals for researching, was to get better at it and to get as much information on a topic as possible. I think that I have gotten way better with my researching. I think that since I have general topics on my project, information was easily found. But if I did have a hard time finding a certain piece of information that I needed, I would just narrow done what I was searching.
In my opinion I think that the photo essay was the most entertaining project. I got to go into a actual classroom that had Down syndrome students in there and learn how they are taught everyday. I thought that this experience was probably the coolest one, while researching for my photo essay.
I decided to organize my portfolio like the audience is traveling with me throughout the semester because I thought that it would be the most understanding. I think that the audience should understand how my brain worked throughout the projects and learn what I wanted to learn as the semester continued.
I did not learn that much throughout the peer reviews. I normally figure that the peer reviews are only what the students want out of my paper and do not understand where I want the project to go. I normally only looked for in my peer reviews to make sure that if they understood my paper that it was going down the right track to make a great paper.
I hope that my audiences likes my projects as much as I did. I had fun throughout all of them and am glad with all of the choices I have made. These projects made me understand about what I want out of my career and what I want to learn more about in the future.
